SAĞLAM CAVAN — 6-WEEK YOUTH FITNESS PROGRAMME IN BAKU
Sağlam Cavan is a six-week youth fitness programme in Baku, Azerbaijan, designed as a continuous journey rather than a one-off event. The initiative aimed to introduce young people to sport as something accessible, structured, and enjoyable through open-air training formats and community-based sessions.
Each weekend, participants met a new coach at White City Boulevard and other open-air locations across Baku, discovering different approaches to movement and physical activity in an urban environment.
The programme structure was built around weekly themes. Week 1 focused on light physical exercises and basic fitness with Əli Mərdanov, founder of Movement Platform, introducing correct technique and a safe entry into training. Week 2 was dedicated to running and basic athletics with a national record holder in running and triple jump, covering speed development, coordination, and simple interval training. Week 3 introduced capoeira with Elgiz Əlizadə, head coach of the Azerbaijan Capoeira Federation and an international referee, combining rhythm, coordination, movement, and elements of self-defence. Week 4 featured yoga sessions with master Qafar Qənizadə, integrating physical and mental practices to connect movement, breathing, and focus. Weeks 5–6 culminated in running sessions and a final mini-marathon, where participants tested themselves in a real outdoor run guided by young marathoners and the founder of Baku Marathon Club.
The programme was delivered within the Cavan Sport framework, supported by the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation and organised by Cavan Youth Movement. Its core objective was to help young people build a sustainable habit of movement, understand how to train correctly, and discover a physical activity format they could continue beyond the programme.
MVP AGENCY’S ROLE
MVP Agency supported Cavan in transforming selected training days into structured, story-driven open-air events by unifying individual sessions into a single six-week programme, defining a basic visual language and key communication messages, advising on a clear on-site flow (welcome, warm-up, main session, cool-down, group photo, call-to-action), and supporting light content capture for social media and partner channels.
